Improving the Discriminative Power of Text-to-SQL Benchmarks

Stack: Python, SQLGlot, PostgreSQL, VeriEQL, LLMs
Problem: Execution accuracy can overestimate Text-to-SQL correctness when benchmark databases fail to distinguish semantically different queries
Approach: Built DONATELLO, a mutation-based framework that generates SQL mutants, filters equivalent variants with solver-based checks and augments benchmarks with targeted counterexamples
Results: Found 8,925 surviving non-equivalent mutants on BIRD and generated 626 counterexample databases, reducing average execution accuracy by 0.90 percentage points after augmentation and 3.48 points on counterexamples alone

Problem: Without ERP or CRM systems, many SMEs handle sales, support and brand communications entirely on WhatsApp, which leads to slow and inconsistent responses
Solution: Built an LLM-powered assistant that classifies incoming messages, drafts replies and routes them for human approval before sending, tested with an SME customer
Features: Automated message categorization, draft reply generation and human-in-the-loop review to balance speed with reliability
